After a personal recommendation from a friend who had trained and passed first time with Tom, I decided to choose him as my instructor. I made full use of the training book and dvd and found that by reading and watching, the lessons were easier than I thought they would be and I felt more confident behind the wheel as I knew what I would be covering. As well as picking up the practical side of driving, the book and dvd helped me to understand why I was doing things in a certain way and there were useful ways to remember approach routines for example and especially the manoeuvres. I found Tom very patient and a great instructor, who knows how to fit individual needs. My confidence grew with each lesson and will continue to do so now that I have my license.

I thought learning to drive would be difficult, but it wasn't with Tom's programme. The ldc system was perfectly suited to my style of learning. Tom would help me master each skill on its own then helped develop my ability to put it all together. Tom has a very calm manner and he is patient and supportive. On the day of my test, I was nervous and thought there was no way I would pass, but Tom helped calm me down with some words of wisdom. It worked cos I passed and only commited one fault.

"My name is Ann Horn and I have just recently passed my part 3 exam to become an ADI. I trained with LDC and found their syllabus and training very effective and good value for money. I liked the fact that at the end of the training I wasn't tied into a franchise but the option was there if I wanted it. My trainer Tom Morrison was very professional and with his knowledge, skill and approach to my training I found it easier to relax and this in turn made it easier for me to learn all necessary skills involved. At the end of my training I paid for only a couple of extra lessons before sitting my test but that was my choice I was not put under any pressure to do so. I decided not to join the Franchise and have now set up my own business in Strathaven as their was a gap in the market there for driving instructors, if that had not been the case I would have had no hesitation in taking on a franchise. I was desperate to get my Driving License, I wanted to complete a one week intensive training course, so I contacted Tom at LDC and he persuaded me to do a 5 week course instead, as he couldn't accomodate a one week course. Tom is an excellent instructor.
I was very nervous about driving at first, but he was able to help me overcome this in two ways. Firstly, he explained everything thoroughly and offered re-assurance when necessary. Secondly, he remained very patient and allowed me to grow in confidence.
Tom has very good teaching methods and uses examples which really stick with you. This is extremely useful as your driving progresses and you often find yourself automatically referring back to points you have been given.
I always got the sense of genuine confidence from Tom that I would pass my driving test, even when I myself felt unsure. It was a great confidence builder and long term help.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Tom to anyone who wants to learn to drive.

Passing first time lol
Tom had previously passed my husband Kevin who highly recommended Tom, so I booked my first lesson. I was quite worried as I never had driven a car at all. However with Tom's set programme and set teaching methods I managed to start the car and pull away safely
Over the next months I took 2 hours a week and at the end of each lesson I felt I had learned a great deal and was getting more and more confident. I am a bit of a flapper so this was quite impressive!
At times I would "argue" with Tom about techniques, but in the end I know what he said made sense and I now use these methods on the road myself.
Tom is a much laid back instructor, but has a set programme which I believe is very structured and teaches people at the right speed. Although I may have took my frustration out on him at times he still came back each week. (Maybe coz I was paying him to lol)

From being a complete novice to passing first time, Tom's training proved to be more than adequate. Techniques were taught simply and effectively, resulting in a confident and safe driver I would like to think!
